Far away, beyond the mountains of words
Far away, beyond the mountains of words, far from the lands of vowels and consonants, live the dummy texts. They dwell in seclusion in Letterville on the coast of Semantics, a vast ocean of language. A small stream called Duden flows through their village, supplying them with the necessary grammatical provisions. It is a paradisiacal land where fried clauses fly into one’s mouth. Not even the almighty punctuation rules over the dummy text – a truly unorthographic existence.
One day, however, a little line of dummy text – her name was Lorem Ipsum – decided to venture out into the vast expanse of grammar. The great Oxmox advised her against it, as the world was teeming with evil commas, wild question marks and devious semicolons, but the little dummy text would not be deterred. It packed its seven capital letters, tucked its initial into its belt and set off.

For those interested, I shot this with a Canon C100. The lenses used were the Canon 24mm IS prime, the Canon 50mm f/1.4, the 100mm Macro IS f/2.8 and the Tokina 11–16mm. By far, most of it was shot on the 24 and the 100. The final shot was taken with my trusty 5D II as it was a last-minute addition. There was no crew on this shoot. Just myself and Bianca. The shoot took three days and post-production took considerably longer. All the visuals were created in After Effects. I made extensive use of Element3D.
